Eco-Beautiful Weddings Features Benign Objects and Kirribilla

Nothing gives us greater pleasure than seeing several of our clients featured side by side in the same wedding magazine. Following on the footsteps of the double-feature in the most recent Inside Weddings issue, the Summer/Fall issue of Eco-Beautiful Weddings magazine, which highlights wedding professionals that focus on eco-friendly products and services, also featured two of our brilliant clients, graphic design firm Benign Objects and dress designer Kirribilla.

Custom muslin favor bags by Benign Objects made it to the Editor’s Picks list of editor Katie Martin:

A beautiful aqua dress by Kirribilla, manufactured locally in San Francisco, was featured in the magazine’s fashion spread on bridesmaid style:

Martha Stewart Weddings features Benign Objects

For many wedding vendors, getting into Martha Stewart Weddings magazine is a bucket list item. Although the editors are always nice, the editorial cutting board is notoriously brutal as they often request a lot of samples and then pick only the top of the very top.

For Rachel who runs graphic design company Benign Objects, getting into Martha Stewart Weddings was a long-time dream. So we’re very excited that her muslin favor bags made it into this beautiful spread in the Summer 2012 issue of the magazine:

Brides features Hatch My House

Brides.com featured an article on the wedding gift registry Hatch My House, recommending it as a smart choice for brides:

For the bride whose priority is saving up for a gorgeous place to keep all the fabulous homewares she already owns, consider registering with Hatch My House. The variety of “items” available for purchase allows you to offer guests a wide range of price points and also adds to the feeling that their gift is meaningful, personal, and an investment in your future.

Inside Weddings Magazine Features Two Clients

We have been waiting to get our hands on the summer 2012 issue of the national Inside Weddings magazine because not one, but two of I Do PR clients are featured there!

First of all, an intricate wedding band by Yael Designs was prominently featured in the story “Dazzled: Infused with Glamour”. Yael’s ring is the one on the far right:Inside Weddings features wedding band by Yael Designs

In the same issue, Inside Weddings editors featured handkerchief wedding invitations by Benign Objects in its “Discoveries” section:

Yahoo Finance feature and the importance of general audience media

While we work mostly with wedding magazines and blogs, we absolutely love when our clients are featured in general audience media. That’s why we were excited to see wedding registry Hatch My House featured on Yahoo Finance section Financially Fit, anchored by the talented Farnoosh Torabi (who is herself planning a wedding!).

The story talks about several new wedding registry options for engaged couples who’re searching for an alternative to the traditional big store registries.

General press important for PR

Hatch My House received a significant surge of traffic from the Yahoo story, which is a great reminder to think beyond the wedding media industry when putting together your PR strategy. While many brides read bridal blogs and magazines, there are even more who read general press on a daily basis.

By reaching out to general press outlets, you get a chance to communicate not only with your target audience, but with the people who influence them such as their friends and relatives who are impossible to reach through the bridal press. Whether involved in the wedding planning or not, grooms are much harder to reach through bridal magazines and are much more likely to be reading general interest blogs and bigger newspapers.

Lastly, if your business targets non-bridal clients or has the potential to eventually move beyond that market (like Hatch My House whose business model can be applied to anyone who wants a gift registry), then appearing in general interest publications is a must. It will help solidify your brand with the general audience, making it easier to make the jump when your business is ready for it.

OK. So, let’s review why target general press outlets in your PR plan:

– Broader reach of brides

– Target grooms who don’t read bridal magazines

– Target couple’s influencers like friends and family

– Increase branding potential for non-bridal clients

As always, if you get featured by general press outlets whether it’s Yahoo or New York Times, don’t forget to flaunt that on your website and social media.

Ethnic bridal magazines feature Nadia D Photography

This month, Nadia D Photography received two great features from ethnic wedding magazines Wedding Nouveau and Black Bride.

Interacial wedding magazine Wedding Nouveau published the gorgeous, fun-filled wedding of Ashely & Damir:

BlackBride, an online wedding magazine for brides of color, featured the stunning modern Atlanta wedding of Asha & Bryson, which previously appeared in The Knot.

Bridal magazines feature Yael Designs engagement rings

This spring, bridal magazines are raving about engagement rings by San Francisco jeweler Yael Designs.

The gorgeous emerald cut diamond engagement ring is prominently featured in the May 2o12 issue of Bridal Guide magazine along with super brands like Tiffany & Co and A. Jaffe.

After the surprise announcement of Angelina Jolie’s engagement to Brad Pitt, Brides magazine featured another Yael emerald cut diamond engagement ring in its online story “Angelina Jolie’s Engagement Ring: Get the Look.”

Style Me Pretty features Nadia D Photography wedding

We fell in love with the Barnsley Gardens Resort wedding of Anna & Judson, beautifully captured by Nadia D Photography, as soon as we saw it! The flowers, the dress, the ruins! And we knew it would be a perfect fit for Style Me Pretty, whose editors are particularly fond of chandeliers 😉 So it’s no surprise Style Me Pretty featured this real wedding this week!
