Last week,Ă‚Â San FranciscoĂ‚Â hosted the first ever WedTech SummitĂ‚Â featuringĂ‚Â wedding and technology industries’ best and brightest. WedTech Summit was created and organized by Carol Gerin, a wedding journalist and authorĂ‚Â of The Anti-BrideĂ‚Â book, and Michael ColeĂ‚Â (BizDev specialist) with the hopes of revealing “new entry points into the wed-space, creating efficiencies, movement, matchmaking, and monetization”.
The day-long conference was MC’edĂ‚Â by Murray Newlands, contributing writer at Inc.Ă‚Â and Entrepreneur,Ă‚Â who recently wrote this article on 5 Top Wedding Apps and featured six expert panels.
Several of our current and former clients were invited toĂ‚Â speak on the panels. ForĂ‚Â “The Meeting Place of Wedding and Travel”, the CEOs of Wanderable, The BachĂ‚Â (our current client), TourNative and Jetway, Inc. discussed the opportunities and challenges faced within thisĂ‚Â niche market.
Cofounder of our current clientĂ‚Â HoneyBookĂ‚Â Shadiah Sigala spoke alongside founders ofĂ‚Â Carats & Cake, Nancy Liu Chin Designs, LadyMarry, and Very Mary Inspired about “Bridging the Gap Between the Wedding Consumer and Vendor”.
Our CEO Sasha Vasilyuk moderated one of the afternoon panels discussing “Social Media & Community Building” with the leaders ofĂ‚Â BlogHer,Ă‚Â Indiegogo, Blue Mango WeddingsĂ‚Â and TourNativeĂ‚Â who explained how they positioned themselves at the forefront of their markets using savvy social media strategies.
With companies like Great Engagement, PushFire, Aisle Planner, The Wedding Spot and Weddington Way in attendance, this summit was the perfect opportunity to rub elbows and pick the brains of major industry influencers.
WedTech Summit 2014 was a precursor to the larger conference slated for May 18, 2015. For more information check out WedTech Summit. Ă‚Â Hope to see you all there!
