Today, I’m excited to share that I am now an instructor at the esteemed Event Leadership Institute<\/strong>, which teaches business courses to event professionals around the U.S. and beyond.<\/p>\n

I’m starting out with a short webinar course called Getting Publicity for Your Event Business<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which launched this week. This is a 35-minute course available for free to ELI members (if you aren’t a member, it’s $25\/year to join, so you should do yourself a favor and sign up). It can also be purchased by non-members, though it really makes a lot more sense to join and get a whole library of awesome courses.\"ELIcourse\"<\/a><\/p>\n

My course on PR gives an overview of how to get media attention for your brand. It’s broken up into 3 main\u00c2\u00a0parts:<\/p>\n

  1. Defining Your Goals<\/strong> – which teaches you to identify your marketing and business needs and target audience as it relates to the media<\/li>\n
  2. Gathering Your Weapons<\/strong> – will explain how to create smart story ideas and images that the media will eat up<\/li>\n
  3. Pitching the Media<\/strong> – the nitty-gritty of how to contact and get the\u00c2\u00a0attention of top editors<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This course is a great primer for event professionals who have never dedicated special time for PR or who want to go beyond submitting real weddings. The ELI course is based on my book Marry the Media<\/a>, which came out in 2016 and is a much more in-depth guide into DIY public relations.<\/p>\n
