That re-ran for years and years so it was a good buzz (and stalker!) generator. For the past two years, my company has been listed on two very exclusive lists of the world\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s top wedding planners in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/best-wedding-planners-list-database-around-the-world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vogue<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<\/em>and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harpersbazaar.com\/wedding\/planning\/g6965\/best-wedding-planners\/\"><em>Harper&#8217;s Bazaar<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s been your favorite feature so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My greatest pride is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/04\/06\/fashion\/weddings\/scrambling-for-a-new-site.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this piece<\/a> that ran in <em>The New York Times<\/em> in 2014.\u00c2\u00a0 I had been planning a wedding, and just 4 days before their wedding date, their venue, an historic building in New York, had to be closed due to structural damage. So, I had 4 days to find a new venue and basically re-plan and design the entire event. On\u00c2\u00a0the weekend of the wedding, a small, but mighty story ran, citing my efforts to make this wedding happen.<\/p>\n<p>This is\u00c2\u00a0the only time my actual work had been reported on in a real and true way.\u00c2\u00a0 No fluff, no pictures, no advice \u00e2\u20ac\u201c just the actuality of what I did and what I do for every client.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For business growth, what has been the most beneficial press?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before <em>Vogue<\/em> and <em>Harper&#8217;s Bazaar<\/em> lists came out, the vendor directory of\u00c2\u00a0<em>New York Magazine<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0was the only press that generated actual new business inquiries. That insures that my RELEVANT audience is seeing it, rather than a married soccer-mom in Nebraska who probably isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t going to call me. \u00c2\u00a0It also provides me with the content I need to stay on offense for my social media efforts, so I value press in a different way than I once did.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice can you give to wedding pro&#8217;s\u00c2\u00a0looking to get publicity?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Do\u00c2\u00a0great work that you are proud of so that when you pitch it or it gets noticed, you have great content to share and it represents you and your brand well.<\/p>\n<p>I once had a very big, high profile wedding published that, despite it \u00e2\u20ac\u0153checking all the boxes,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t really represent my company well.\u00c2\u00a0 I was almost a little bit embarrassed to be associated with it. Once I saw it printed, I knew that I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t ever take a job like that again because I&#8217;d run the risk of being connected with the wrong type of work.
