This week, we hosted the first ever Wedding Technology Conference along with our friends at\u00c2\u00a0SF New Tech! We had a great turnout with people from both the wedding and tech industries, including some folks who drove all the way from San Diego to attend.<\/p>\n

Thanks to some delicious vendors and RocketSpace’s awesome location in downtown San Francisco, the night was a great time had by all.<\/p>\n

The conference\u00c2\u00a0wouldn’t have been a success\u00c2\u00a0without our super sweet sponsors! Our guests were able to sample some superb Bay Area-made treats including cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, delicious appetizers, wine and more.<\/p>\n

The Sprinkles Cupcakes <\/a>were irresistible – our favorite was the red velvet! John Silva from\u00c2\u00a0Culinary Eye Catering<\/a> spoiled us with savory appetizers that were beautifully presented.<\/p>\n

\"Fom<\/p>\n

Zev from Fom<\/a>, pictured here with Olivia from RocketSpace,\u00c2\u00a0showcased his\u00c2\u00a0cool oxygen-infused coffee. And Jen Musty, founder of\u00c2\u00a0Batter Bakery<\/a>, shared some\u00c2\u00a0ice cream sandwich’s (including the absolutely amazing oatmeal coconut cookie with strawberry ice cream… mmm). And the party certainly wouldn’t be the same without the generous donation from Livermore-based\u00c2\u00a0Wente Vineyards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The guests included the editor-in-chief of Today’s Bride<\/a>, <\/strong>the editor of\u00c2\u00a0The\u00c2\u00a0Big Fat Indian Wedding<\/a><\/strong> blog, executives from xo group<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>and Sephora, as well as other wedding vendors, entrepreneurs, journalists and investors.<\/p>\n

We selected 5 great wedding technology companies to showcase how they are disrupting the traditional wedding industry to give the millennial couples a better way to plan their big day.<\/p>\n

First up was Rob Farrow,\u00c2\u00a0CEO of\u00c2\u00a0AislePlanner<\/a>, who helped us put together this event, took us through his cloud-based wedding planning site.<\/p>\n

\"TinaTina Hoang-To,\u00c2\u00a0the\u00c2\u00a0founder of wedding venue discovery site\u00c2\u00a0Wedding Spot<\/a><\/strong>, talked about her inspiration behind the company (the experience of planning her own wedding) and their plans to expand to other geographical markets. She also mentioned they are currently raising money.<\/p>\n

The ladies behind honeymoon registry\u00c2\u00a0Wanderable<\/a><\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0explained how more and more couples are preferring unique experiences to physical items.<\/p>\n

Cynthia Kellogg, the cofounder of\u00c2\u00a0Gift Gather<\/a><\/strong>, who recently moved to the Bay Area,\u00c2\u00a0explained why it’s time for wedding gift giving to change.<\/p>\n

Siri Eklund, the founder of\u00c2\u00a0Two Bright Lights<\/a><\/strong>, which was just acquired by xogrp, told us the history of her 4-year-old company, which she described as the reality show concept for photographers.<\/p>\n

The first Wedding Technology Conference was a great success, if we say so ourselves. We hope to see these companies grow and inspire more technologists to come disrupt the wedding industry and make wedding planning better for all.<\/p>\n
